Ingo Schwichtenberg
(drums, 1984 - 1993)

Born: May 18, 1965 | Died: March 8, 1995 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 172 lbs.

One of the original members of Helloween, Ingo was an excellent drummer and perfectly complimented the sound being put forth by the rest of the band.  He appeared on "Helloween" (the Mini-LP), "Walls Of Jericho," "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part I," "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part II," "Pink Bubbles Go Ape," and "Chameleon," however he never contributed anything in terms of songwriting.  Ingo had schizophrenia and because of that he refused to take his medication and eventually became heavily dependent on drugs and alcohol.  It was noted by Michael Weikath in an interview that Ingo never recovered from Kai's departure from Helloween in late 1988.  When the band dealt with major internal problems in the early ninties, Ingo tended to side with Kiske during arguments.  He was asked to leave the band in late 1993 due to the problems he was having with drugs and alcohol.  He tragically committed suicide in early 1995 and is still sorely missed by everybody in the Helloween community.  The band dedicated their 1996 release "The Time Of The Oath" to the memory of Ingo.  May he rest in peace.
