Uli Kusch
(drums, 1994 - 2001)
Born: March 11, 1967 | Height: 5'11" | Weight: 143 lbs.
A former member of Gamma Ray, Uli joined Helloween in early 1994 to replace Ingo Schwichtenberg. Not only was he a suitable replacement for Ingo, he also added an awesome songwriting force to the band. He played on "Master Of The Rings" but did not write any material for it. However, when "The Time Of The Oath" came out in 1996, Uli had the opportunity to write a handful of tracks. That pattern repeated itself for 1998's "Better Than Raw" and 2000's "The Dark Ride." The band really seemed to have gelled really well together. However, shortly after "The Dark Ride" tour, both Uli and Roland were asked to leave the band. It was felt that they were concentrating too much on their solo project which has now blossomed into a full-fledged band. Joined by Jorn Lande (Ark) on vocals, Jan-S. Eckert (Iron Savior) on bass, and Axel Mackenrott on the keyboards, Roland and Uli saw their new band Masterplan's debut album released in early 2003.
